Products free from ingredients derived from animal slaughter. May contain animal by-products such as dairy, eggs, or honey where the animal was not killed or harmed. All vegan products are also vegetarian, but not all vegetarian products are vegan. Brands qualify through dedicated vegetarian certification (Vegetarian Society Approved, AVA Certified Vegetarian), through vegan certifications which also meet vegetarian criteria, or through documented ingredient evidence reviewed by Provenance. The evidenced claim is labelled Vegetarian. Provenance confirms active certification status for certified claims and reviews ingredient disclosures for evidenced claims. Each listing shows whether the claim is certification-backed or evidenced, and the scope. Vegetarian claims do not guarantee a product is free from all animal-derived ingredients — only those involving slaughter.
