Criteria
- The parts must be tested for compostability [industrially or at home]
- The resulting compost should meet the quality criteria outlined in EN 13432 / ASTM D6400 (related to the toxicity of the compost)
- After 6 months no more than 10% of the original dry weight should remain
- Compostable plastics do not qualify for this claim

Proof Point Basis
The Fully Compostable Packaging proof point highlights products where 100% of the packaging is compostable. What "compostable" means, including the requirement that no more than 10% of dry weight remains after 6 months, is defined by EN 13432 and ASTM D6400. Compostable plastics are excluded from this proof point, based on WRAP's assessment of their compostability.
