Fully Compostable Packaging

This product's packaging is capable of decomposing naturally in a home compost or in an industrial compost environment, in a way that is not harmful to the environment and produces compost. This does not guarantee that it will be composted – always check locally.

Criteria

  • The parts must be tested for compostability [industrially or at home]
  • The resulting compost should meet the quality criteria outlined in EN 13432 / ASTM D6400 (related to the toxicity of the compost)
  • After 6 months no more than 10% of the original dry weight should remain
  • Compostable plastics do not qualify for this claim

Publication Requirements

  • Specify if they are home or industrially compostable

Accepted Evidence

Evidence should strongly support the claim and will be made publicly available

  • Test report, proving parts pass standard compostability tests

Accepted Verifiers

Verifiers are third parties who can confirm the validity of a given Proof Point
