To obtain Organic Food Federation (OFF) certification, a product must meet these standards:
- At least 95% of ingredients must be organic
- Be free of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides in farming.
- Adhere to a strict ban on genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
- For products related to livestock, treatment of animals must be humane, including organic feed and access to outdoor areas.
- Farming practices must promote soil health, biodiversity, and ecological balance.
- Have full documentation of production processes to ensure transparency and compliance.
- Certified operators undergo at least one mandatory in-person inspection each year
